This is a series of plates that I created to describe U.S. domestic vs. foreign views of our country. Terrorism, 9/11 and Al Queda have shattered a warmly cherished ideal that America is 'safe' while it wages war across seas. Why should our homes be untainted while another no longer recognizes their native country because of our decisions to intervene? These plates attempt to confront the American homestead with these realities, while in typical fashion aim to sugarcoat them with beauty and domesticity.
